This article describes the development (current and proposed) of a user workstation for the analysis of acid rain data. The query language is map‐based, and the analysis package uses a spreadsheet paradigm. Automatic decoding and transcription of data descriptions, a sophisticated special purpose programmable function library, and simultaneous manipulation of several large databases are all special features of the system.
