The Regional Computer Centre at the University of Erlangen Nuernberg uses various computer systems, which all support the Erlangen Graphics System. This is an application graphics package with approximately 80 installations, which in its largest version is based on GKS and uses GKS metafiles for picture transfer. Thereby we also have to provide access to specific devices via a local area network and since our customers are distributed in a surrounding of approximately 100 km distance via public network facilities.
