The importance of computer graphics is recognized in various fields and with various application aspects. Although the fundamentals for computer graphics use could be considered the same for all applications, there is a sipficant diaerena in the required knowledge. The fact to be taka into account is the existence of a notable amount of “canned” graphics packages supplied or available together with the application oriented graphics equipment. Currently many small and inexpensive table-top computers are equipped with graphics features. Although such graphics are often limited in capabilities and quality, the user can use it for solving many professional problems or *.The computer graphics community is rapidly growing and it is expected that educational institutions will have to introduce computer graphics as part of regular education on diaercnt levels. The limitations in the computer graphics education will, for a long time, be the inability of educational institutions to have adequate equipment available, particularly in quantities which could guarantee proper class organization. It must be assumed that the poorer countries will meet more difliculties in this respect. The consequence will be a considerable time lag in the use of computer graphics. A further and more severe drawback will be the lack of properly educated and motivated teachers.
