Classroom assistants are widely employed to support pupils with special educational needs. However, little attention has been paid to the way in which they are deployed and managed within the classroom. Drawing on research undertaken by the National Foundation for Educational Research, Felicity Fletcher‐Campbell, senior research officer, NFER, identifies elements of good practice.
