In their concern about the National Curriculum and its implementation from next September many teachers have not yet looked closely at the Education Reform Act's provisions for local management of schools. Margaret Peter, journal editor, attempts to summarise the relevant Sections of the Act, taking effect from September 1990, and some of the key issues arising.
