Provision of education for children in hospitals in Britain is variable and uneven. At a time when all areas of education are under review, the value of provision for this class of special educational need deserves consideration. Paddy Wiles has been a part time teacher in the Oxford Hospitals Education Service for 17 years. She undertook this study for the M.Phil. degree of the Open University.
