A follow‐up study is described here of children transferred from a special school to their neighbourhood comprehensive schools. The authors are now educational psychologists in Oldham Metropolitan Borough but their investigation took place in a neighbouring authority. Rea Reason is also a tutor for the professional training of educational psychologists at Manchester University.
