Style-checkers go an important stage beyond spell-checkers, but the concept is similar. The program proof-reads your text and queries anything it does not recognise as correct according to its rules. Since machine intelligence properly bows to human judgement, any sensible style-checker not only confines itself to offering advice, but also allows the user to change the rules. Grammati. which is available for Macintosh and PC with most popular word processors, is more sensible than most.
