For a certain chemotherapy an optimal dosage is defined as the highest possible dose which is still not “too toxic.” A linear regression is assumed between toxicity and dosage. Sequential searching processes for an optimal dosage are proposed utilizing Bayesian techniques. Simulations are performed to indicate the effectiveness of the new schemes.
