Signor Manlio Sancisi opens his book “From Trade‐union Action to Co‐operative Action” with a Foreword in which he sets himself to trace the lessons of a practical kind which may be drawn, especially under present circumstances, from the co‐operative experiences of Italian agricultural labour. He gives particular consideration to conditions in Switzerland, but his observations and suggestions have a general application. We consider, therefore, that the text of this Foreword should be placed before our readers in exfenso . — Edg. M.
