Summary— The in vitro pharmacological responses of the human neurogenic bladder to KCl, carbachol, ATP and CaCl 2 have been analysed. The contractility (contractile strength and ED 50 ) of neurogenic bladders was significantly increased when treated with carbachol, ATP and CaCl 2 . In contrast, there was no apparent difference in the responsiveness of neurogenic bladders when treated with KCl. There was no apparent correlation between pharmacological responsiveness and clinical parameters, such as gender, age or cystometric data, in the neurogenic bladders.
