Summary— Short‐term results in 8 patients with ureteric obstruction and hydronephrosis who underwent subcutaneous urinary diversion show this procedure to be a simple and useful method of urinary diversion for uraemic cancer patients. This method has the additional advantage of avoiding the complications and social implications of other methods of palliative treatment.
