Summary— An ultrasonic Doppler was used to locate the internal spermatic artery during inguinal varicocelectomy. In this way inadvertent injury to the internal spermatic artery and consequent testicular atrophy were avoided. This study has shown that the use of a Doppler during varicocelectomy is helpful whenever the internal spermatic artery is difficult to identify.
