Combined Technique 1 Summary— Three hundred and fifty‐one consecutive prostatectomies have been carried out using a combined suprapubic approach for the enucleation of the adenoma and a transurethral approach to control bleeding. Removal of any residual tissue in the prostatic fossa and removal of a wedge from the bladder neck are done with the resectoscope. The procedure is reserved for larger adenomas not suitable for transurethral resection.
