Summary— A system has been devised for treating patients with congenital neuropathic bladder which is based on the results of combined urodynamic and radiological assessment of bladder function. The objectives were, firstly, to preserve renal function and, secondly, to achieve appliance‐free continence and to secure voiding at will by abdominal straining or by intermittent catheterisation. The results were satisfactory in the first respect but less so in the second, the limiting factors being sphincter weakness in some patients and general physical and intellectual disabilities in others.
