Summary— Two cases of spontaneous extravasation of urine from the kidney in children, one due to the previously unreported cause of primary vesicoureteric reflux, are reported. Adherence to basic surgical principles by drainage of stagnant collections and the re‐establishment of normal renal drainage is recommended and only rarely should nephrectomy be required.
