Summary— The pathophysiology of injury to the female genitourinary tract secondary to a fractured pelvis has been studied in 5 patients. Delayed complications were frequent and their management is described. It is concluded that a transpubic approach to the lower urinary tract facilitates the satisfactory reconstruction of the urinary tract. Long‐term follow‐up of 4 to 5 years is necessary for the satisfactory management of these patients following their initial injury.
