Summary— Internal urethrotomy was used to treat 12 patients, aged 1 month to 10 years, with upper renal tract dilatation secondary to a congenital neurogenic bladder. A satisfactory response was achieved in 8, with the best and most consistent results in patients under 4 years of age. It is concluded that internal urethrotomy has a limited but useful role to play in the management of the neurogenic bladder.
