Summary— Between 1950 and 1978 1744 partients with bladder tumours were followed up for 3 years or more; their survival rates were 61% at 3 years, 51.2% at 5 years, 37.8% at 10 years and 28.8% at 15 years (direcrt method). It is important to recognise the absence of muscle infiltration (O+A, Ta+T1) or its presence (B + C + D, T2 + T3 + T4) and the respective survival rates for both groups have been calculated.
