Summary Trigonal cysts are a rare congenital abnormality and only 18 cases have been described since 1889. There appears, however, to be some controversy regarding this number since, according to some authors, several of the cases reported were probably ureteroceles. Only 4 cases of trigonal cysts in infancy, including the present one, have been reported. A case of trigonal cyst is described in a 7‐year‐old girl with secondary bilateral ureteric dilatation, left ureteric reflux and a non‐functioning left kidney. Reference is made to 3 cases of trigonal cysts in children reported in the literature.
