Summary Results from a urological cytodiagnosis service indicate that it is not possible to distinguish with any degree of certainty malignant from non‐malignant irradiated urothelial cells in urine. It is stressed, therefore, that when urine specimens are sent for cytological examination, details of any previous irradiation should be given to the cytologist.
