Summary Five cases of squamous cell carcinoma of the bladder were observed to occur in a series of 20 cases of vesical leukoplakia. All the neoplasms which had developed were highly malignant and not amenable to therapy. Total cystectomy should be considered for all cases of vesical leukoplakia.
