SUMMARY Urinary osmolarity and excretion of sodium, calcium, and magnesium were determined in 26 healthy controls and in 50 patients with renal calculi. It was seen that the calcium excretion and the calcium/osmolar ratio were significantly elevated in the stone cases. The results obtained are discussed in relation to findings from other centres. There was no significant difference in sodium or magnesium excretion between patients and controls.
