SUMMARY The perfusion pressures of obstructed segments of uretero‐vesical junctions have been measured in vitro. Following analysis of the results obtained it is suggested that the defect in primary obstructed mega‐ureter is of the collagen fibres rather than of the ureteric musculature. It is suggested that secondary urethral hydro‐ureter is analogous with secondary hydro‐ureter of adult men, seen in some cases of benign prostatic enlargement.
