SUMMARY Three cases of carcinoma complicating uretero‐colic anastomosis are described, and the findings in these and in a further 25 recorded in the literature are reviewed. The tumours may be of glandular type or originate in the urothelium. In most of the recorded cases the antecedent lesion was benign. Patients with uretero‐colic anastomoses need to be followed up regularly, and for many years, particular attention being paid to bowel symptoms or evidence of urinary obstruction. The prognosis is likely to be poor if the tumour that develops is of transitional or anaplastic type.
