SUMMARY Two cases of prostatic urethral polyps are reported. These along with the 28 previously reported cases are analysed from a clinical and pathological standpoint. I t is concluded that this is a non‐neoplastic congenital defect. Because of its obstructive qualities it is of clinical significance and should be recognised as a separate entity. To eliminate further discrepancies in nomenclature it is suggested that this lesion be identified with the title “congenital polyp of the prostatic urethra.
