SUMMARY Cephalexin is a new cephalosporin antibiotic which is absorbed when given by mouth. One hundred and eighty strains of bacteria causing urinary tract infections were tested for sensitivity to cephalexin using a tube dilution technique. Approximately 70 per cent of strains were inhibited by 10 mcg. cephalexin per ml. or less. Ten per cent of organisms were resistant to 25 mcg. per ml.
