SUMMARY In each of seven patients subjected to bilateral vasectomy for voluntary sterilisation there was subsequent spontaneous recanalisation of one vas. The pathological findings are discussed in detail, and the way in which recanalisation probably occurs, and the measures which need to be taken to prevent it, are described. The general management of patients is also discussed.
