SUMMARY A statistical study of the findings of vaso‐seminal vesiculography in 25 normal, 71 cases of benign hyperplasia, 20 cases of carcinoma of the prostate and 9 cases of miscellaneous lesions has been reported. Diminution of the angle of axis of the seminal vesicles and dilatation of the ejaculatory ducts were the most significant findings in benign hyperplasia of the prostate. The vesiculographic changes were usually bilaterally symmetrical in these cases. Narrowing and elongation of the ejaculatory ducts with evidence of incomplete filling, amputation, distortion or narrowing of the spermatic tract were characteristic of carcinoma of the prostate. Vaso‐seminal vesiculography is a useful simple method of differentiating benign hyperplasia and carcinoma of the prostate. It has however, very little role in the detection of early cases of carcinoma.
