SUMMARY The tenth case of primary tumour arising in the stump of ureter following nephrectomy has been reported, and the features of these cases, both benign and malignant, reviewed. A brief historical review of the pathology of the stump of the ureter precedes a definition of this tumour. When compared to malignant tumours arising in the intact ureter, the clinical and diagnostic features are similar, but a high incidence of squamous cell carcinoma and of multiple tumours is reported in these cases of tumour arising in the stump of ureter.
