SUMMARY1  The incidence of ureteric reflux in fifteen patients after operations on seventeen ureteric orifices has been assessed by micturating cystography and its significances discussed. 2  Reflux can best be detected by micturating cystography and reports on a larger series would seem desirable. The cystoscopic appearance of the orifice is of little value in deciding whether reflux occurs. 3  The relative importance of reflux and infection in the production of chronic pyelonephritis is discussed. 4  Incision of ureteroceles with cystoscopic scissors seems to be preferable to their destruction by diathermy. 5  Post‐operative micturating cystography is advised for patients who have had operations on the ureteric orifice.
