SUMMARY1  The technique of urethrography using high‐viscosity contrast medium is described and the radiological anatomy and pathological changes seen following disease of the anterior urethra are reviewed. 2  The findings resulting from the use of urethrography in a series of patients attending a bougie clinic are presented. 3  The value of the information provided by urethrography in the assessment and management of such patients is discussed. It is suggested that the examination provides a useful objective record of the extent of the disease. 4  Urethrography as a routine investigation prior to prostatectomy is suggested.
