SUMMARY An indwelling veno‐venous cannula is described by which numerous hemodialyses can be performed with one cannulation. The risk of infection and of thrombo‐embolic phenomena has been minimal possibly because of the continuous infusion of a small amount of heparin. The cannula makes easy the taking of blood for biochemical investigation. The use of a heparin perfuser could be beneficial, as this would enable the patient to become ambulant more quickly.
