SUMMARY 1. A technique for cytodiagnosis of prostatic cancer by examination of the centrifuged urinary deposit following prostatic massage is described. 2. This technique provided adequate numbers of prostatic cells for examination in 96 per cent, of patients studied, as compared with 76 per cent, of patients in whom direct smear was attempted. 3. Confirmatory evidence is provided that cytodiagnosis of prostatic cancer is unlikely to be made in those with “latent” carcinoma of the prostate.
