SUMMARY1 Eighty‐eight cases of bladder extroversion seen and treated at one centre are surveyed. 2 The changing trends in the management of these cases are discussed. 3 The reasons for failure of bladder inversion in all the male and one‐half of the female cases are investigated. 4 A new operation is suggested for the initial management of those patients not suitable for inversion of the bladder. 5 The operation of “cutaneous trigonostomy” or “trigonostomy” is described in detail. 6 The results of this new procedure are analysed.
