SUMMARY 1. A case of unilateral pelvic kidney presenting with haematuria after injury is recorded. 2. This kidney showed a large extrarenal pelvis joined to the hydronephrotic kidney by two pedicles with a single ureter emerging from its anterior surface. 3. The clinical presentation of pelvic kidney is briefly reviewed and a possible mechanism for the formation of this particular anomaly is discussed.
