SUMMARY Forty‐four patients with advanced carcinoma of the bladder were treated with citral. Eighteen patients were treated for periods less than four months with no success. Twenty‐six patients were treated for varying periods over four months and up to eighteen months, and of this group, seventeen are continuing treatment. Within the group of twenty‐six patients treated over four months, cystoscopic and clinical findings improved in six, remained essentially unchanged in five, and deteriorated in three. Bladder symptoms, in the absence of cystoscopic control, improved in three patients, and three patients with extensive and disseminated disease were considered to have been palliated. Six patients with a variety of extravesical types of involvement were not significantly benefited. Histological findings are presented and the results discussed.
