SUMMARY1 The embryology and pathology of the mesodermal appendages of the testis, epididymis, and spermatic cord are reviewed with a description of the clinical picture of torsion of these structures. 2 Three unusual cases of intrascrotal appendages are reported. 3 The possibility that enlargement of the appendix of the testis precedes torsion is discussed.
