SUMMARY The complications following uretero‐ileostomy in a series of thirty‐one children are described ‐ with special reference to the occurrence of post‐operative hyperchloræmic acidosis. The indications for cutaneous ureterostomy in patients with advanced obstructive lesions of the urinary tract are discussed and four cases treated by this method are described in some detail.
