SUMMARY Three rare renal tumours are reported: a renal embryoma, a carcinoma of the renal tubules, and a large liposarcoma of the kidney. The renal embryoma occurred in a premature infant on whom nephrectomy was successfully performed (this being the youngest nephrectomy in the world literature). The incidence and classification of the tumours have been discussed, together with a review of the literature.
