SUMMARY Cystic hygroma is an uncommon benign neoplasm of the lymphatic system. It is very rare in the groin and scrotum. A case of such localisation is reported in a youth of 19 and the literature, previously reviewed by the author elsewhere, is analysed. The diagnostic difficulties are pointed out and the pathology of the lymphatic system is briefly discussed.
