Agauopsis pteropes sp.n., from the Mediterranean, and A. okinavensis sp.n., from the West Pacific, are described. Nine natural groups of closely related species are distinguished on the basis of the spines on leg I and the chaetotaxy of the tarsi and the palps. Most of the species known are placed within one of these groups. The geographical distribution of the natural groups is outlined.
