Apistogramma macmasteri sp.n. (headwaters of the R. Meta), A. viejita sp.n. (near Puerto Gaitán), A. hongsloi sp.n. (the R. Guarrojo and the Can̄o Perro), and A. iniridae sp.n. (Puerto Inírida and the Can'o Bocón) are described from Colombia. A redescription is given of the types of A. hoignei Meinken (the R. Portuguesa, Venezuela). A. iniridae belongs to a group of chiefly Amazonian species, including also A. pertensis (Haseman). It is characterized by e.g. the absence of black in the anterior dorsal fin and the united dorsal fin lappets in males. The other four species constitute a group of closely related forms. Bars are present in the colour pattern, males have produced anterior dorsal fin lappets, and females have a dark blotch on the chest. Two additional, still undescribed species of Apistogramma in the Puerto Inírida region are noted.
