New material of the marine tubificid Rhyacodrilus prostatus Knöllner, 1935 is examined and redescribed as Phallodrilus prostatus (Knöllner) comb. n. The main reason for the decision of this systematic position is the presence of a second pair of prostate glands, previously not reported, attached to the ectal end of the atria.
