The rostral parts of the brain in Calamoichtkys calabaricus , a brachiopterygian fish, show some similarities with actinopterygians, as well as with lungfishes and amphibians. This study includes a histological analysis of the optic tectum, pretectum, diencephalon and the olfactory system.
