such a case. This prompted us to report this case. Based on our experience, we conclude that in cases of acute presentation of medically resistant stridor and respiratory distress in children, the possibility of external compression of the trachea should be kept in mind and a preoperative CT-scan and fibreoptic airway evaluation should be performed prior to deciding on surgical options.
