Summary This is a case report of anesthesia for a child with a rare congenital disease marked by hyperreactivity of the neuromuscular system; hyperekplexia. Unlike other reports, she experienced no untoward effects from general anesthesia using sevoflurane, rocuronium and a caudal block.
