Stress intensity factors for circumferential surface cracks in pipes have been derived using the finite element method. Both cracks located at the in‐ and outside of the pipes have been analysed. The derived solutions cover a wide range of geometry and load configurations and are presented in a tabular form that defines influence functions for the stress intensity factor along the whole crack front. The solutions show good agreements in comparisons to other published solutions.
