Intrauterine insemination with washed and capacitated spermatozoa was performed in 11 couples whose primary cause of infertility was poor semen characteristics, i.e. oligospermia, asthenospermia and teratospermia, and in 9 couples with unexplained cause of infertility. A total of 59 cycles were attempted. Four biochemical pregnancies and 2 viable pregnancies were achieved, resulting in the birth of one boy and one girl.
