The delivery of a small for date infant after bilateral ligation of the maternal internal iliac arteries because of a large vaginal hematoma is reported. This operative procedure employed to control obstetric and gynecologic hemorrhage, which is intractable by the vaginal approach, is a life‐ and uterus‐saving measure.
